The Public Lending Right (PLR) Commission distributes annual payments to Canadian authors for the presence of their books in Canadian public libraries.
The PLR Registration period is now open.
Registration period: 15 February to 1 May 2009
Registrations received outside of the registration period will NOT be accepted and will be returned to the sender.
Please note that registrations by e-mail are not accepted. You must fill out a registration form and mail it to the Public Lending Right Commission along with the required support material.
First-time Registrants
If you already provided
your mailing address to the PLR Commission, you will receive a Registration form by mail before the end of February. If you are registering for the first time, click here to get a Registration form.
The PLR Commission communicates with authors once a year - every February. If you send the PLR a registration form in 2009, the next time you will hear from us will be in February 2010.
Registered Authors
If you are already registered with the PLR Commission, we mailed you a package in February. It contains a File Update form for you to use to add new titles or update your address.
The Title Earning Summary included in your PLR package lists all of the current titles you have registered with the PLR Commission. You do not need to re-register your titles.
The PLR registration period will open on
15 February 2009.
